Labyrinth project

The Labyrinth project commenced on 14/8/2003 and was completed on 18th and 20th October 2003.  Over these 9 weeks the path was dug by 23 residents who gave generously of their time (see website).

It is aligned on the same basis as most churches- you enter from the west facing eastwards (towards the rising sun and Je

rusalem). In a spiritual light it is taken to represent our journey through life, with one significant difference, when you have followed it's twists and turns to arrive at the centre you can then retrace your steps.

Draft Development Plan 2004/10

The latest stage of this process finished on 27.11.03. As you know the open space status of our park was confirmed when Council voted by 15:8 on 5.11.03 to reject the County Manager's proposal to rezone it for housing.

Your local councillors voted as follows:
Larry Butler (FF), Eoin Costello (FG), Bernie Lowe (FF) and Donal Marren (FG) voted against the Manager's proposal.  Denis O'Callaghan (LAB) voted for the Manager's proposal, while Carrie Smyth (LAB) abstained.

See website for further details.

From 16 December to 16 January alterations to the Draft Plan will go on public display.  This should not involve us as there is no change.  However we must ensure our removal from the housing list!

Roches Hill

Christmas Appeal

During the summer we submitted the proposal to include Roches Hill in the S.A.A.O (Special Amenity Area Order) already intended for Dalkey and Killiney Hills.  We are delighted that the S.A.A.O will now cover Roches Hill, thus
affording greater protection.

Our annual appeal in aid of the Society of St Vincent de Paul will take place on Sunday 21
December 2003 around 6.30 pm when Santa Claus will pay a special visit to the children.
Donations of suitable non-perishable items or gifts will be greatly appreciated
