Ballinclea Park

For approximately one decade your committee has been engaged in discussions/negotiations with Council members and management.  Since the first motion to secure this area for recreational purposes was put forward in 1996 we have travelled a long and difficult road to reach the advanced stage currently gained.

The Open Space zoning was

confirmed by Council on 5/11/2003 having first been voted through on 7/4/2003.

We must ensure that this zoning remains unaltered through to the final stage of the Development Plan, up to it's implementation in May 2004.

You will be aware that our input to the Park over the past three years has been consider

able in terms of planning, cost and physical effort :-

The Labyrinth was installed in October 2003
The fence and brick wall were repaired and renewed in 2002
The Millennium Logo floral display was installed in 2000
Sink holes have been filled in from time to time

BHRA on the Internet

You are probably aware that we established a BHRA web site early in 2003. Subsequently a resident's mailing list was created.

The web site provides information about Ballinclea Heights. This year it has helped with the campaign to have the former reservoir site designated Open Space in the County Development Plan. It provided information about the process, published the voting record of

Councillors (See: http://www.ballincleaheights.org/dev_plan/), and been used by some to make submissions to the County
Council.

The resident's mailing list is intended for communication amongst residents. It is intended for use as a community discussion forum, notice board, etc., and for BHRA matters. So please do post e-mails on any topic that

might be of interest to folk in Ballinclea Heights.

To join the resident's mailing list visit http://www.ballincleaheights.org/members/ or send an e-mail to webmaster@ballincleaheights.org requesting that your e-mail address be added to the list. Please include your name and house number.
