Since being designated as open space in April 2004 your committee prepared a comprehensive submission which was sent to DLRCoCo Parks Department 8/7/2004
Arising from this a meeting was held on site 12/10/2004 between Parks and BHRA. Parks agreed to investigate the installation of drainage, top soil and a perimeter path as well as the removal of the large evergreen trees.
To date they have had people look at the park but as yet have not received quotations. These may arrive before Christmas but in any event we have scheduled a meeting with Parks for mid-January 2005.
With regard to drainage and top-soil it is the considered view of all that the existing playing surface is unsuitable for games. Therefore it is important to remedy this situation before the installation of playing facilities
Ballinclea Park Fund
This fund was set up recently following a decision at our AGM. Already it has exceeded €9,000 based on contributions of €100 per household.
We would earnestly ask other members to become Patrons of Ballinclea Park as soon as possible so that we will be in a strong position to negotiate with the Parks Department. They have indicated that they will match our contribution.
