EASTER 2005 Our AGM will be held at 8pm, Monday 25th April 2005 in Killiney Castle Hotel. This meeting should not be missed as crucial issues regarding Ballinclea Park will be discussed. An agenda will be circulated closer to the date. Ballinclea Park You will be aware that we made a substantial submission to DLRCoCo for the establishment of our recreational park on 8th July 2004. We met with Parks on 12th October 2004 when they agreed to get quotations for:
Parks stressed that a financial contribution would be required from BHRA Quotations totalling circa. €80000 were received in January 2005. Parks asked us if they could designate Ballinclea Park as a location for a Multi Use Games Area. DLRCoCo propose to install 9 of these over the next 5 years commencing in 2006, subject to funding. We agreed. The MUGA is a 40m x 30m artificial playing surface catering for 5 or 7 a side football, tennis, volleyball & basketball and is floodlit. An example can be seen at the Blue Pool (the court nearest the building. Due to the departure of our liaison in Parks we will not be able to establish the timetable for work on drainage, top soil and the path until after Easter. Meanwhile, as part of our contribution, we have arranged for Coillte to remove the evergreens, thin and crown deciduous trees which require such improvement, plant Rowan trees in place of the evergreens and provide name tags for the many fine deciduous species. It is important to understand that all parties were agreed from the outset that recreational facilities should not be erected until the playing surface problems have been rectified. Hence the priority for drainage and top soil. Ballinclea Park Fund To date 62 members have become Patrons of our park (see house numbers listed on our web site). We congratulate these contributors and earnestly request the remaining 70% of members to send their contribution immediately to Scott Jungman, Hon. Treasurer at no.60. The standard contribution has been €100 while some have exceeded this. The reward which a unique and beautiful park in the centre of our community will bring to residents and children will far outweigh your contribution to this essential fund. Direction Signage Plans are in train to erect signs at junctions to alleviate the non sequential numbering. More at the AGM. |
